Located in the Great Falls Plaza in Sterling, Virginia, the restaurant Mokomandy features a distinctive combination of Korean and Cajun food. Introducing an exciting new cuisine to local food lovers, Mokomandy has earned recognition in publications including The Washington Post, Washingtonian magazine, Northern Virginia Magazine, and Fairfax Times. The restaurant founder and current President, Thaddeus Kim, developed the unique cuisine based upon his experience as the son of a Korean-American father and a Cajun mother.

The restaurant menu was developed in conjunction with a graduate of The Culinary Institute of America, who currently serves as the Executive Chef. Focusing on ssam plates along with variations on Korean-style barbecue, the main menu at Mokomandy provides an extraordinary variety. Mokomandy offers exciting new dishes while maintaining a culturally authentic foundation of flavors. Choice items have included jambalaya featuring house-made sausage and tasso, BBQ shrimp iceberg salad with Louisiana Italian dressing, snapping turtle gumbo, and a Korean pot roast brimming with fresh vegetables, purple rice, beef, and sweet potato puree.

To complement a small, medium, or large plate, Mokomandy offers an array of side dishes such as fried kale chips, Korean choucroute, yellow squash shitake, and jalape hush puppies. Mokomandy also offers an enticing dessert menu and mixes up a number of signature cocktails. Beyond its highly original cuisine, Mokomandy flourishes as a new restaurant due to its stylish but welcoming ambiance and friendly, courteous staff. Mokomandy founder Thaddeus Kim maintains an active affiliation with the Dulles Regional Chamber of Commerce. While continuing to promote his new restaurant, Thaddeus Kim supports numerous charitable organizations, including the Wounded Warrior Project, Food Friends, and Share Our Strength Taste of the Nation.
